Harrington & Squires is a small design and letterpress printing business based in Tufnell Park, North London and run by Chrissie Charlton (left) and Vicky Fullick (right). We are from a graphic design background and use both traditional letterpress printing as well as digital printing to design and produce stationery, invitations, calendars, greetings cards and other products. View our font list.
We also run one day intensive letterpress printing workshops for anyone interested in learning how to hand set type and letterpress print.
Our workshop in Tufnell Park, London is called The Corridor. It is 1.2 metres (or 288 picas) wide by 3 storeys high. We are open from 10.30am to 5.30pm weekdays and purchases can be made from our small shop. If you would like to visit to discuss a particular project, please call to arrange an appointment.
This one minute film made by Lou Stevens and Schuman Hoque at The Service Coop takes a whistle stop tour around our workshop showing the letterpress and printing process. The accompanying music, based on Van Morrison’s ‘Gloria’, is a tribute to our late 19th-century Cropper platen press which is named Gloria after Gloria Daniel at Unite & Type from whom we bought the press in September 2013.
Our company name was inspired by – and is a homage to – Bob Harrington (left) and Horace Squires (right), compositors and letterpress tutors at Hornsey College of Art in the late 1960s.
